The book does give a reason Qui Gon was so obsessed with Anakin being the chosen one, and it never goes on for long - they are quick to start shifting blame to themselves and focus boo, their own shortcomings, while others might have any number of explanations.     Want to know what Jedi Master Dooku was like before he left the order! That damn Jedi stoicism does neither of them any favors. Enlarge cover. Though there are naturally also some inconsistencies with the final film and later books, the novel also includes interesting expanded versions of some of the scenes from the movie.
